Newly hired candidates will attend  the Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Academy for 20 weeks of law enforcement training.

Upon graduation, new officers will be assigned to a Field Training Officer and receive additional departmental training.

During an 18-month probationary period, continued training and evaluations will be conducted.
