The Reagan National Pass & ID Office issues badges for airport employees

EFFECTIVE JULY 27, 2015, Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) requires recurrent Criminal History Record Checks (CHRC) to be conducted for all employees to whom the airport has issued an Airport ID badge. This in accordance with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulation 49 CFR 1542.303. CHRCs will be reprocessed at the time of badge renewal application.

Hours Open: Monday to Friday 7:00am - 3pm

The Airports Authority normally follows the OPM guidelines for the Federal holidays closings and any other delayed openings and early closings.

End of Year Closure Announcement: Pass & ID will be closed on December 24, 2015 (Christmas Eve), December 25, 2015 (Christmas Day), and January 1, 2016 (New Year’s Day). The office will reopen the following Monday's at 7 am.

  • Monday, January 18, 2016 - Federal Holiday Martin Luther King Day
  • Monday, February 15, 2016 - Federal Holiday Presidents Day

  • Monday, September 05, 2016 - Federal Holiday Labor Day
  • Monday, October 10, 2016 - Federal Holiday Columbus Day
  • Friday, November 11, 2016 - Federal Holiday Veterans' Day
  • Thursday, November 24, 2016 -   Federal Holiday  Thanksgiving
  • Monday, December 26, 2016 - Federal Holiday Observance of Christmas Day
  • Saturday, December 31, 2016 - Federal Holiday New Year's Eve

Badge Application Process

Applicants are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

If you are a new applicant: 

  1. Report to the Pass & ID office first with all the completed required documentation.
  2. You will then be sent to be fingerprinted for the Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) and STA submission.
  3. You will be notified by your Certifying Official when your application has been approved.
  4. Once notified, return to the fingerprinting office to complete your training.
  5. Once you have completed training, proceed to the Pass and ID office to receive your bage.

If you are renewing your badge:

  1. Come to the Fingerprinting Office to complete your training if you have one of the following:
    • Non-movement driver endorsement as indicated by a "D" on your badge.
    • Movement driver endorsement as indicated by a "DM" on your badge.
    • Are a designated Certifying Official for your company.
  2. Once you have completed training, proceed to the Pass and ID office with all the completed required documentation to receive your badge. Badges may be renewed up to 30 calendar days prior to badge expiration.

Annually, each application must be marked as a Renewal and the Individual must present two (2) forms of Identification. One must be picture ID.

DCA Fingerprinting Office

Located adjacent to the Reagan National Pass & ID Office (see above)

Hours Open: Monday to Friday 7:00am - 3pm

Fingerprint and IET training room for new applicants can be process during attendant hours of 7:00am – 3:00pm.

*** Effective July 27, 2015, the fee for fingerprint collection is $29.00. If receiving a security threat assessment (STA) an additional $11 fee will be charged (Total fee $29 + $11= $40) (check, cash, money order, or credit card accepted) ***

Interactive Employee Training (IET) Room

Located adjacent to the Reagan National Pass & ID Office (see above)

Hours Open:

  • Valid/current badge holders may swipe in during the hours of 6:00am - 6:00pm, Monday to Friday.
  • New Applicants can attend training during attendant hours of 7:00am – 3:00pm, Monday to Friday.

Agent Cashier’s Office

AOA Vehicle Inspection Information

AOA Vehicle Inspections are required on all vehicles operated on the AOA. Vehicles must meet the minimum requirements as described in the Vehicle Control Program as summarized on the Inspection Checklist.

AOA Vehicle Inspections are conducted by appointment only Monday through Friday.  Please complete the Inspection Application and have the authorized company representative submit it in accordance with the instructions.
