Aerotrain HAS OPENED
AeroTrain OPENED to passengers on Tuesday, January 26 (click here for Press Release). New, directional signage is in place to guide you to your gate or to "Baggage Claim / Ground Transportation."
ALSO, New Gate Lettering Affects Several A and B-Gates at DullesSeveral of the B-Gates havel been re-lettered to become A-Gates. However, the gate numbers of all A and B-Gates remain the same.
Details:
- Gates A1 through A6 remain A1 through A6 (United Express)
- Gates B14 through B32 are now A14 through A32
- Gates B35 through B79 remain B35 through B79
- No gates have been physically re-located. Flights remain at the same locations.
AeroTrain will improve the passenger experience at Dulles:
- Less than two minute travel time between stations
- Train speeds up to 42 miles per hour
- Express, underground transit between stations
- The system will form a full loop when the final phase is completed

The AeroTrain System is located beyond the security checkpoints
- Departing passengers follow signs "TO ALL GATES" then look for signage to the gate area after the security screening checkpoint. Passengers heading to the A, B or C-Gates will be guided by signage via AeroTrain.
- Arriving passengers follow signs "TO BAGGAGE CLAIM / GROUND TRANSPORTATION." Domestic passengers arriving at the A, B or C-Gates will be guided by signage via AeroTrain. International arriving passengers will board a shuttle to U.S. Customs the same as in the past.
